Nearing my 77th birthday, I still do not adhere to the concept of retirement.  I would much rather devote my life to continued learning and help others learn.  I am convinced that learning should be a lifelong commitment for many reasons especially to keep pace in our fast-paced and rapidly changing world.  I have chosen to pursue an MA in Anthropology with an emphasis on the newly recognized sub-field of Digital Anthropology because of my fascination with Anthropology in general and personal desire to dig deeper into the true nature of the impact of technology on the future of our human existence.  Ultimately, upon attainment of this degree, I hope to become a member of the adjunct faculty and teach selective undergraduate classes.   Being a member of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) here in Hattiesburg, I also plan to offer Anthropology related courses at their facility.

Much has been written on the importance of Livelong learning   Here is a short video that "cuts to the chase" as to why we should embrace this philosophy regardless of which stage of life we find ourselves in.

If you feel that you might be interested in pursuing Lifelong learning through a formal learning program, find out more by clicking on the various links on the above main menu. Otherwise, I urge you to investigate the various informal personal enrichment classes offered by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute here in Hattiesburg.  You won't be disappointed.
